What we collect

  • Audio samples. Only when you tap Detect, the app records 6 to 20 seconds of audio (12 by default; you choose the length in Settings) and sends it to our server to identify the title. Audio is processed in memory and discarded — we do not store recordings or transcripts.
  • Video clips & screenshots. Only files you choose. We extract a short audio sample and up to four still frames on your device; the original file never leaves your phone.
  • Typed lines & shared text. When you type a line you remember or share text to Click Flix, the app sends it to our server, which uses AI to identify the title. The text is processed in memory and not stored.
  • Live camera scan. Only when you start a scan, the app sends up to four still frames and 6 to 20 seconds of audio per round (12 by default; you choose the length in Settings). Frames are analyzed by AI to read the scene: title cards, on-screen text, setting, costumes and props. Click Flix does not use facial recognition. Frames and audio are processed in memory and never stored. Please point the camera at your screen, not at other people.
  • Website search. clickflix.dev remembers your recent searches and the titles you preview in your browser's local storage, so you can get back to them. It stays on your device and is never sent to us — use "Clear" to remove it.
  • Installed streaming apps. The app checks whether specific streaming apps (e.g. Netflix, Paramount+) are installed, so it can offer "Watch" instead of "Sign up". This check happens on your device; the list is not uploaded.
  • Usage analytics. A random install ID, your country setting, how you searched (for example mic, camera or typed), the detection outcome (matched title or no match), and which partner links you tap, so we can improve accuracy and attribute sign-ups.

Service providers

Identification uses Anthropic (AI analysis of audio transcripts, typed text and video frames), Deepgram (speech-to-text), and optionally ACRCloud (audio fingerprinting). Title and streaming data come from TMDB and JustWatch. Clips play in YouTube's own player through the YouTube API Services, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to them; Click Flix doesn't access your YouTube account. The deals we show are researched from the streaming services' public websites (using Anthropic) and involve no personal data. See also our Terms of Service.

Your choices

You can revoke microphone access at any time in Android settings, clear your detection history in the app, or contact us to delete analytics tied to your install ID: privacy@clickflix.dev.

Children

Click Flix is not directed to children under 13.
